seasons of thought

The sun has been swallowed by the evening sky and so too my thoughts seem lost to silence. Like stars that tempt us to look beyond our experiences, my reflections feel just beyond my pen. My thoughts drift with the careless whimsy of the leaves that twirl recklessly to the ground, but I can no more contain my words than I can prevent the briskness in the air that whispers of cooler months ahead. As the world around me turns darker, preparing to slumber through the winter months, I feel the familiar temptation of stillness and the quiet rustling of dreams.
You just let that tip-of-the-tongue word remember you! What wondrous turnabout! So splendid!
Thank you. Conjuring words to portray silence feels a bit like wrestling a shadow.
It is definitely a time of turning points, and of people turning inward. I am reading similar sentiments everywhere. It is good to see so many people in tune with the rhythm of life and each other.
I love the idea that we are each one piece of a greater whole caught up in the “rhythm of life.” Looking forward to catching up on reading while I turn inward.
A field that lies fallow for a while tends to bear a wonderful crop when the time is right again 🙂
Silence is, indeed, restorative.

Thanks!
I think you are a poet. It’s all beautiful.
Poetry is an intimate art, in this respect I am immensely grateful for such a generous compliment. Thank you.
This was simply beautiful and captures exactly how I feel this time of year. Perhaps your pen can lasso those reflections after all.
Thank you. It is my most heartfelt wish that I preserve these memories, silly and sentimental alike. Occasionally I find myself struggling for a thought just out of reach and I grieve the missing memory, remorse reminding me to weight my experiences with words.
