  • Your writing is personal, honest, and paints the picture of a life of challenges and the smell of hot cocoa. Thank you for inviting us into your world.

Hi, can I just say that I love reading blogs that really shows the writers vulnerability and honesty and I think you do that in a perfect and very graceful way. Though I might be young and won’t really understand everything you put down here, know that it has already captured me as if I’m reading a story from a published book.
Keep up your amazing talent for placing words together in a beautiful manner.
    =)

Reading your words I wanted to unpack them slowly and delicately, marveling at each kindness. With each sharing I endeavor to capture a small piece of my life, preserving each moment for another time. I hope that I am able to embrace my truths with humility and gratitude. Thank you for pausing here with me.

  • You’ll always be grateful you catalogued so meticulously your time as a young mother. Generations will fight over rights to your entries! Keep it up, scribblechic. You’re on to nurturing good things in yourself, your family and your readers.—M.

Thank you. I am always humbled by the kind words of others in this vast, eclectic company of writers.

The act of documenting our lives has evolved into a love letter to my children and a keepsake of sorts for days past. I hope one day my children see the threads of love and hope that accompanied difficult choices as well as undercurrents of humility and accountability for my imperfections as a parent.

Beautiful & Inspiring words!!! Thank you!! 🙂 Following you now! I just started blogging recently and would love any thoughts you might have 🙂 http://dancinmoma.wordpress.com (I write about the “Dance” of Life, Motherhood and more) I’m a dance teacher and a mom of three so your “center stage” piece was right up my alley. I recently wrote “Behind the curtain” and how we all need to step out on the “stage” of life!!! Applause for YOU!!! 🙂

Wish I could write half as eloquently as you but I spent a majority of my career writing governmental documents so the fluidity and art of expressing my feelings well enough for anyone to find remotely interesting, I’m afraid has left a long time ago. It is important to say this because there are few words that come to me to state how lucky I am to know you personally and to say the real scribble chic is even more beautiful a person then the incredibly well stated thoughts she illustrates through her gift with words. You are truly amazing and incredibly strong and one who will always inspire. You, my friend, should be published and sit upon the shelves amid some of the greatest who have come before you for generation upon generation to always be graced with your talent! Thanks for letting me in.

    Dear Scribblechic,

This is Derek Bell, I write Playing in the City with Trains. I’m enjoying your blog. So familiar and often so funny.

I was wondering if you’d be interested in taking part in the #mywritingprocess blog tour. Basically a chain letter in blog form, but unlike a chain letter, it is fun, and it will hopefully expose your writing to people who may not have been lucky enough to discover it on their own.

It’s simple. You shoot me a very brief bio so I can point readers in your direction at the end of my post, Then, in your post you mention me and my blog, and then answer these four questions:
    – What are you working on?
    – How does your work differ from others in its genre?
    – Why do you write what you do?
    – How does your writing process work?

And then you pass it on to at least one other blogger.

My friend Lindsay at chimeragirl2010 (http://chimeragirl2010.wordpress.com/2014/04/10/all-the-work-while-crying/) invited me to take part, and now I am inviting you. Please let me know if you’re interested. If not, I completely understand.

    Thanks for your help.
    Derek

will you write and I can convert your poem to music? You have such pure and elegant introduction!

    • Marie Perdriau's avatar Marie says:

While that is a most intriguing proposal, I’ll have to be content with accepting your kindness as a compliment. If you hear music in a lyrical composition, I welcome your interpretation.

  • mihrankalaydjianblog's avatar mihrank says:

May I call you Marie? Here is my email, please feel free to sent me directly, than we can communicate together. I appreciate your kind words!!

I came here because you liked by Freshly Pressed and when I first started reading I thought, oh here is a gorgeous mom with her life together and time to write — the kind of moms I resent. And then I read something about your son and started to cry. Sons. Developmental delays. IEPs. Holding my breath every time he might play with someone. Oh, sons. Can’t wait to have time to read your whole blog!

    • Marie Perdriau's avatar Marie says:

I love this comment for your honesty. I hate almost every image of myself, so on the rare occasion I find a picture I like I cling a little to the promise of an idea that is kinder than the one I hold in my mind’s eye. I can’t remember the last time a photo wasn’t cropped and filtered to flatter, but I hope there’s also a sincere spark of joy that balances the sharp pieces you can’t see. Some of that is the sweet boy you met in another post.

I’m looking forward to reading beyond our introductions, I have a feeling there’s a kindred connection between our stories.
