broken thoughts

In quiet moments I have begun sifting through old sentiments, ideas scribbled in a hurried hand; fragments of self in broken thoughts. Unfinished and almost forgotten, sentimental and reflective, they are time capsules of fleeting moments and curious musings.
Hesitant to discard them and uncertain where to keep them, I am sweeping beloved words into the margins of my thoughts; a wistful wreckage of wonderings.
Oh, how I know what you here describe. Lately I have been thinking I should piece those found words and ideas together like a quilt of mis-matched patterns, jagged in shape and size. It’s as though they never were able to fit anywhere, but all together, collectively, they become something in which they belong.
I am similarly tempted, but in many ways the broken pieces feel more genuine unbound; more vulnerable in their incompleteness.
Nicely put! for many of them, why not take the mobster’s advice: Foggedaboudit!
After all, there’s pretty good evidence that a healthy mind is adept at forgetting that which does not matter in the long run.
It feels a bit like trying to contain confetti. Part of the beauty lies in the colorful fragments that resist being constrained into order. Those stray pieces that slip into the cracks are curiosities that make me smile, but are quickly forgotten.
In my thoughts I often have broken thoughts because sometimes I start thinking of one thing, then my mind shifts to the next thing, and its a never ending cycle with me. I just finished my book What the Body Wants and now I am thinking about the next book but I can’t keep my thoughts from running like a dog running around in a circle trying to catch it’s tail. As soon as the thought come, it’s gone and it’s on to the next thought. Here is my link to my page on Wattpad http://wattpad.comjust_lirikal3470.
Too many ideas is a happy burden. Good luck centering your thoughts.
Thanks don’t know how successful it will be, but I always have a lot of ideas that I come up with and hopefully I will be able to get another book out of it. Thanks for the encouragement.
Hey Marie…still trying to center those thoughts of mine…lol.
